Micro GC Fusion

A New Era of Gas Chromatography: The Micro GC Fusion® Revolution

Driven by years of continuous innovation, the Micro GC Fusion® redefines the boundaries of micro-chromatography. It stands on three major technological pillars:

  • High-Speed Temperature Programming: For unparalleled analytical performance and the ability to separate heavier compounds.
  • Embedded License-Free Architecture: An on-board computer ensuring a rapid start-up and seamless integration with modern communication protocols.
  • A unique injector delivering true linearity from low ppm levels up to 100%, regardless of the sample matrix.

Operating Principle:

The Micro GC Fusion® relies on gas chromatography principles: compound separation followed by quantitative detection. The instrument utilizes a micro thermal conductivity detector (TCD)—an industry benchmark valued for its universal response.
This technology delivers accurate quantitative results using external calibration.

The sample is either drawn by an internal pump or flows through the 1/16" inlet, where it is distributed across independent analytical modules working in parallel. This simultaneous processing generates a dedicated chromatogram for each module, culminating in a comprehensive analysis report that compiles all results in seconds.

Analysis time: 1 to 3 minutes
Chassis Options: 2-module or 4-module (Benchtop or Rackmount)
Detector: μTCD 2.0 (MEMS technology)
Gamme de détection : <1 ppm à 100%

Options:

  • Offline license
  • Modbus TCP/IP option
  • 4-20mA available via Analys
  • CHEMBOX

Industry-Leading Specifications Driven by Key Innovations:

– Unmatched Analytical Flexibility: Unlike traditional isothermal systems, our temperature programming allows a single module to operate across the entire working range of a column, significantly expanding your application scope.

– Temperature-controlled sample path with zero cold spots: Dramatically enhances separation and detection for challenging analytes, particularly moisture (H₂O) and reactive compounds such as ammonia (NH₃).

The Micro GC Fusion® runs on an onboard, license-free software engine requiring no installation. Easily accessible via Wi-Fi or LAN, it works across all operating systems.
The onboard interface supports simultaneous multi-user access, giving teams the flexibility to monitor data and interact with the analyzer concurrently, even during an active analytical run.

– Designed like an industrial PLC, the Micro GC Fusion® combines rugged durability with extreme ease of use. Operating with simple push-button functionality, it guarantees rock-solid reliability directly in plant or field environments.

– Multiple injector options tailored to your application: The Micro GC Fusion® offers several injector designs—including a proprietary fixed-volume injector. This unique injector easily handles complex matrices (binary, ternary mixtures, and beyond), delivering accurate, linear results across the entire concentration range.

Frequently Asked Questions about Micro GC Fusion®:

How does Micro GC Fusion® differ from a conventional lab bench GC or an optical/spectrometric analyser?

More than an alternative to traditional laboratory GCs, the Micro GC Fusion miniaturizes the technology while dramatically cutting run times. Utilizing independent analytical modules operating in parallel—each featuring MEMS micro-injectors and micro-TCDs—it resolves and quantifies complex gas streams in 1 to 3 minutes, against 15 to 45 minutes for a classic GC.

Unlike optical spectrometers (NDIR, FTIR) or electrochemical sensors, which are frequently constrained by cross-interferences and narrow matrix tolerances, the Micro GC relies on full physical chromatographic separation. Simultaneously measure permanent gases, sulfur species, and light hydrocarbons with zero spectral interference or false positives.

Can high concentrations and ppm-level traces be quantified simultaneously in one run (e.g., H₂, CO₂, biogas)?

Yes. The micro-TCD detector offers an exceptional dynamic range of over five decades, measuring major volume percentages with the same high precision as trace-level components. (e.g. 0 to 100% of CH4 and CO2 in raw or purified biogas) and traces to ppm (e.g. impurities H2S, O2 or N2 in High purity hydrogen).

Furthermore, thanks to its fixed-volume injector, the Micro GC Fusion® features a unique design that eliminates matrix effects and ensures exceptional linearity, regardless of matrix variations across your samples.

What sample types are compatible, and how do you handle moisture or condensable vapors (water, light alcohols like methanol)?

The Micro GC Fusion® accommodates any dry or humid (non-condensing) gas stream at sample pressures up to 2 bar gauge (30 psig).

When dealing with condensable or polar vapors (water vapor, heavy hydrocarbon fractions, methanol), CHEMLYS supports you with turnkey sample preparation engineered for your operational parameters. Through heated sample lines, active conditioning, and online dilution, we guarantee sample representativeness, prevent liquid condensation inside the Micro GC Fusion®, and protect analytical hardware during vapor-phase runs.

Is advanced chromatography training required for daily use of the Micro GC Fusion®?

No. The instrument is engineered to streamline daily operation in both field environments and R&D laboratories. Featuring an onboard web server, the Micro GC Fusion® is controlled directly from any standard web browser (on PC, tablet, or smartphone)—with no software installation or tedious IT maintenance required. Analytical methods developed and validated by CHEMLYS are pre-loaded: non-specialist operators simply connect the sample line and launch the run with a single click to obtain direct, real-time concentration readouts.
